Halton Police urge Motorists to Hang up and Buckle up

In October 2009 Ontario introduced a ban on the use of hand held communication devices while operating a motor vehicle. Police issued warnings for a period of three months in efforts to educate the public and to encourage drivers to break the habit of using a hand held device while driving. Effective February 1, 2010 officers throughout the Province began issuing Distracted Driving Provincial Offence Notices. However, even though the law has been in effect for well over a year, the number of drivers who still violate this legislation is unacceptable.

Take a Stand Against Bullying

The Halton District School Board, Halton Catholic District School Board and the Halton Regional Police Service, recognize the profound impact and long term effects bullying can have on our youth, their families and friends.

The Air Quality Task Force Action Plan

The Air Quality Task Force Action Plan has NOT yet been implemented.
C4CA has engaged in discussions with the Minister of Environment and
anticipates that an announcement of who will chair the implementation of
the action plan is made May.

Hospital Lands and Parks and Rec update.

JCRA wrote to the Town Planner responsible for the Hospital Lands project requesting that we be included as key stakeholders in the consultation process and that the terms of reference given to the retained planning consultants be expanded to include the potential impact of redevelopment of Centennial Square and school lands.

AGM 2011

The JCRA Annual General Meeting took place on February 24th 2011.
