Night Time Residential Entries – Oakville

Since the 17th of March 2011, several homes, mainly along the Lakeshore Rd. corridor in Oakville are being entered in the late evening or early morning hours.  Unknown suspects are generally attending the rear of the home and using force to gain entry.

Once inside, they are stealing mainly cash, jewellery or small electronics.

The Break and Enter Unit is requesting the public’s assistance with this matter, and ask that they contact police immediately if they observe any suspicious vehicles or unfamiliar persons wandering their streets at night.  We encourage getting as much detail as possible with respect to descriptions of persons and/or vehicles, including licence plates numbers where possible and clothing description.

Safety tips to keep in mind:

  • Do not at any time confront the subjects.
  • Utilize motion sensors on outdoor lighting.
  • Activate your alarm system especially when you are not home.
  • Practice and encourage your Neighbourhood Watch program.
  • Ensure your home is secure.
