A motion to ban all election signs on public property was presented at the Town Council January 30th, 2023 meeting. JCRA delegated in opposition to this proposed motion; instead supporting restrictions on signs, higher penalties for candidates who ignore the rules and improved enforcement of regulations. Multiple delegations were also opposed to a complete ban and also supported restrictions, penalties and better enforcement as effective tools to manage signs and continue to permit candidates to use all available recognition and awareness options.
