Interested in giving back to your community? Joining the JCRA Board of Directors is an opportunity to do just that. Every year at our AGM we welcome new board members. New perspectives and ideas, along with different skills and areas of expertise, are important for the JCRA board to be as effective as possible addressing the issues that matter to residents. More details below:
The time commitment is approximately 8 – 10 hours per month, including the monthly board meeting. While the most important criteria for a board member is interest in contributing to the community, our current board has a strong, diverse range of skills and knowledge, which helps us address the different issues that impact JCRA residents. For the upcoming year, we would like to increase the number of directors with the following:
- Analytical skills (reviewing staff reports, site plan applications, development proposals, budget documents)
- Communication skills (for newsletter, website and social media posts)
- Social Media skills (maximizing use of social media platforms for good communication)
- Representing JCRA on the Petro-Canada Lubricants Public Liaison Committee which meets 5 times per year
